Welcome to the memorial page for

George J. Paesano

July 4, 2017

George J. Paesano, 90, peacefully went home to our Lord on July 4, 2017, surrounded by his family.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Joann (Giuliani), his two children, Julianne (John) DiNunzio, and George (Patricia) Paesano; his five grandsons, Anthony and Nicholas George DiNunzio, and Emilio, Georgie, and Domenic Paesano.  He is also survived by two sisters, Stella (Rico) Cortelezzi, Pauline Hartman, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Emidio and Annunziata (Cifeca) Paesano, and his siblings, Cecilia, Nelda, Yolanda, Gaetano, Mary and John.  Originally from Dennison, Ohio,

George graduated from Dennison St. Mary’s High School.  He served his country in World War II, and retired from CSX Railroad and Busch Properties.  George was a tireless worker and never knew a stranger.  Continuing a tradition that began in his home town of Dennison, he had a deep love of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, for which he never missed a game first on the radio, then on television. He was a man of strong faith and attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for many years, along with many hours dedicated to the Columbus Italian Festival.  In his retirement, George made wonderful trips to Italy and enjoyed priceless visits with his cousins and extended family in Colleranesco and Mosciano Sant’Angelo, Abruzzo.  He also treasured his time with his grandsons,  never missing a practice or game.  Those around him observed his non-materialistic ways and ability to appreciate the beauty that exists around us every day.  He was blessed with a long life, and wanted for nothing other than to be surrounded by family.
